Admissions

We are pleased that you are considering a place at Coppetts Wood, for your child. We encourage you to visit, prior to making your application, so that you can experience for yourself, our school community, learning environment and impressive school grounds as well as meet staff and see our wonderful pupils, in action. Please contact the school office for further information about booking a tour.

We believe that all children of school age benefit from starting school together, at the beginning of the school year: the transition for every class is carefully planned and supportive. Pupils are introduced to the curriculum, their peers and school routines together. For this reason, we will only consider requests for delayed, deferred or part-time entry in exceptional cases and where there is clear evidence that this is in the best interests of the child.

Requests for delayed admissions or part-time attendance must be made to the Headteacher, after a place has been offered. 

Please note that if your summer-born child misses the Reception year, you do not have an automatic right to an out-of-year Reception place in the following year. 

Coppetts Wood Primary School is a community school and, as with the admission authority for all community schools, the Local Authority has full responsibility for the school’s admission arrangements for places in Reception to Year 6. 

Admission arrangements | Barnet Council 

If your child has not been offered a place at Coppetts Wood, you have the right to appeal to Barnet Council. Information about the admission appeal process can be found on the Barnet Council website.

The London E-Admissions system allows you to search for information and apply online for both primary and secondary school places.

Admission to our Nursery and Pre-Nursery classes is through an application directly to the school. Once you have been offered a place, you can complete and submit our school admission forms below or contact the school for a paper or electronic copy.
